José Pablo Villalobos hails from the Mexicali/Calexico border region in North Eastern Baja California. He completed his undergraduate education at University of California San Diego, his M.A .at the University of Arizona and his Ph.D. at University of California Irvine. His research and teaching interests are centered around Mexican literature, Latino literature, and US/Mexico Border Studies. When he’s not reading, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, suffering with the struggles of the Mexican National Soccer team and running.
