Guillermo García Ureña wins Distinguished Graduate Student Award
It gives us great pleasure and pride to announce that HISP graduate student Guillermo García Ureña has been recently named recipient of a Distinguished Teaching Award by the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies (OGAPS). This is the highest award conferred by our university to honor excellence in graduate teaching.
An award ceremony will take place on Monday April 24, from 10:00 to 11:30am in the Stark Galleries (MSC), so please join us as we celebrate Guillermo’s accomplishment.
The Hispanic Studies Film Series, with the support of the Department of Hispanic Studies and the College of Liberal Arts, is pleased to announce the Diversity Lessons Learned from Hispanic Films Writing Contest. The winning entries will be awarded financial prizes at the spring 2017 Parents/Family Weekend Ceremony, and they will be published on the departmental website [https///hisp.tamu.edu]. Judged by a panel of Hispanic Studies faculty, one prize will be awarded for writing in Spanish, and one prize will be awarded for writing in English. Click here for details.
