Alessandra C. Ribota is a doctoral student, graduate teaching assistant, and Language Program Assistant to the Director of Lower Division Spanish Instruction in the Department of Hispanic Studies at Texas A&M University. She holds an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, and has experience as a Spanish high school teacher. Her research interests are second language acquisition, pedagogy, Open Educational Resources (OER), identity, and teacher education.
Her work research and development work has focused on developing OER material and studies on the positive effects of the material in language acquisition, and the use of technology-based projects as means of identity texts in L2 students.
Alessandra’s dissertation focuses on the incorporation of Learning by Design and Multiliteracies framework in Open Educational Resource (OER) material by applying the material in an novice and intermediate-mid courses.
