EDUARDO ROVNER

Eduardo Rovner is the acclaimed Argentine author of over 25 plays, has won the very prestigious Casa de las Americas award among many others, has been the General and Artistic Director of the Municipal General San Martín Theater in Buenos Aires, serves as Founder and Vice President of the "Carlos Somigliana" Foundation which manages the Teatro del Pueblo, has been the Director of the Culture Strategic Plan for the City of Buenos Aires, and teaches as Professor of Dramaturgy for the Masters Program at the University of Buenos Aires. His plays have been performed in various countries world-wide, in both Spanish and English.

Eduardo Rovner joined the Hispanic Studies Department during the week of April 17-21, 2007. He conducted two workshops with students on how to write one-act plays in Spanish as part of Dr. Misemer's Spanish 489 course (El teatro puesto en escena). Mr. Rovner delivered a scholarly presentation to faculty and students titled "El proceso creador en la dramaturgia", and he also met individually with students throughout the week.
